Research Fellows, who comprise 40% of the academic staff in the Department of Biology, are essential to the department. Strong senior Independent Research Fellowship (IRF) applications to join the Department of Biology are the goal of the mentorship project.

The Department of Biology will assign successful applicants to prominent academic mentors.
